So why the Verde Valley?

What is it about this enchanted land of Red Rock and breath taking beauty that makes this area so “spiritually driven?”  There are the long rumored myths of Vortexes, which most old locals claim started with roadside maps meant to drive tourism.  Others firmly believe Vortexes are real and the spiritual power behind Sedona.  For me, I believe the spirituality lies in those who walked before us and left their amazing archaic sites for us to see.  Not only remnants from the Yavapai tribe, and the Sinagua before them, but some sites that can be attributed to prehistoric man.   Paintings and petroglyphs on red rock walls, ancient structures with fingers prints and impressions from ruins sculpted by hand.  Rocks stacked in pit houses.  You can’t help but feel the life at some of these amazing sites that are so often overlooked in a typical Sedona visit.  Palataki, Honoaki, Tuzigoot, Montezuma’s Well, and the Crane Petroglyphs, these are the sites that tell the tales of Sedona and the Verde Valley, and for me the true sources of spirituality.
